Surgery on the nose, or rhinoplasty, has been shown to enhance appearance and self-confidence. Realistic expectation are especially important because nose surgery will not necessarily change looks to match the ideal. The best candidates for rhinoplasty are people who are looking for improvement, not perfection. Age is also a consideration. Many surgeons prefer not to operate on teenagers until after the have completed their growth spurt at about 14 or 15 for girls, and a bit later for boys.
