Getting Ready for Summer with Plastic Surgery

It may seem that this winter will never end, but it will. Then Spring will be around, with summer not far behind it. For most of summer is the time that we want not only to feel good, but also to look our best. It’s that “summer feeling” that, in the winter and spring, spur us to start the diet and exercise programs that we've been promising to do. The combination of eating well and exercising regularly should be a part of everyone’s regime, regardless of age. We do know, however, that there are “body issues” that cannot be resolved by diet and exercise alone. Fortunately, there are plastic surgery procedures that can help you get ready for summer, when less clothing reveals more of you.

Breast Augmentation: If you want breasts that are larger, fuller, more shapely, or more symmetrical, then you should discuss breast augmentation with your plastic surgeon. It can also deal with the changes that come about as a result of pregnancy. In most cases, breast augmentation is an outpatient procedure. The recovery time for most women is less than three weeks.

Tummy Tuck:- You have tried dieting, exercise and perhaps even one, or more abdominal fitness paraphernalia and none of them give you the look you want, you may wish to discuss getting a tummy tuck. Your plastic surgeon will explain that your body will only go so far with diet and exercise, but a tummy tuck may give you significantly more of the look you are trying to achieve. Before surgery, your plastic surgeon will discuss the procedure with you, explaining that during surgery, the doctor will removal loose skin from your abdomen and tighten the muscles that lie beneath. The doctor will also explain the recuperation process and how long it will be until you can back to pre-procedure activity.

Liposuction: Even serious weight-loss and healthy eating regimes cannot, in many cases, get rid of the areas on your body where there is excess fat. Liposuction, also called lipoplasty, is the cosmetic surgery procedure that can get rid of those unwanted fatty deposits. In most people, those deposits are primarily found on the abdomen, hips, love handles, outer thighs, knees, ankles and neck. These areas respond well to liposuction. Your plastic surgeon will explain the procedure to you and tell you how long after surgery you will be able to get back to full activity.

Botox® Injections The injection of Botox® , by your plastic surgeon is a relatively fast, simple, and safe procedure. It is shown to reduce lines on the upper third of your face that are signs of aging. The results of this procedure have been shown to be fully visible within three to six months. It has been found that there is another benefit to these injections. Botox® can also be used to treat excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis). What the Botox® does is to temporally block the neurotransmitters that stimulate sweat production. Studies indicate that, after this procedure, there is a marked decrease in sweating. Unfortunately the procedure doesn’t last “forever.” Repeat treatments are usually needed every four to six months.

Tattoo Removal Has oftentimes we hear, people get a tattoo in the spur of the moment. Unfortunately for many, that action turns out to be a mistake. The good news is that your plastic surgeon can remove your unwanted tattoo, if it is small. For lager tattoos, the doctor will use a series of laser sessions.

Indeed, summer cannot be far behind. Meet with your plastic surgeon to discuss your summer-related issues and what procedures may help to make you greet summer more happily.
