Nose Reshaping
Can Achieve a Balanced Facial Structure
The basic techniques for cosmetic rhinoplasty (nose reshaping) have their origins in
reconstructive plastic surgery. Joseph Dieffenbach, MD, a pioneer of early plastic surgery
technique, took the first leap toward what we now know as modern cosmetic rhinoplasty.
He did so with an operation he developed in 1845. Since then, many refinements
have been added to the technique of nose reshaping. Plastic surgeons have perfected and honed
their skills and continue to do so.
Because the nose is a central (literally and figuratively) feature of the human face and
because it protrudes from the face, it serves as a physical and visual focal point. By
refining the shape and structure of a person's nose, plastic surgery can put the person's
entire face into "alignment."
If you have been unhappy with the look of your nose or if you are having difficulties
breathing, please feel free to make an appointment with our office. Nose reshaping may
be the answer for which you have been looking.
